Tata Motors has recently introduced the updated Tiago NRG, a crossover-inspired variant of its popular Tiago hatchback. This iteration brings subtle yet impactful enhancements to both its exterior and interior, aiming to offer a more rugged and versatile driving experience.
Exterior Enhancements
The 2025 Tiago NRG adopts a more robust aesthetic compared to its predecessor. Key updates include a sharper grille and headlamp design, aligning it with Tata's Impact Design 2.0 philosophy. The vehicle features redesigned front and rear bumpers with faux skid plates, complemented by blacked-out cladding around the wheel arches and side panels, enhancing its crossover appeal. The NRG variant also boasts a higher ground clearance than the standard Tiago, making it more suitable for varied terrains.
Interior and Features
Inside, the Tiago NRG offers a blend of functionality and comfort. The cabin is equipped with fabric upholstery, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a digital instrument cluster. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. The NRG variant also provides ample boot space, catering to both daily commutes and weekend getaways.
Performance and Variants
Under the hood, the Tiago NRG is powered by a 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 85 bhp and 113 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. The vehicle is available in multiple variants, with the base model priced at ₹7.20 lakh and the top model at ₹8.20 lakh.
Market Positioning
The Tiago NRG is positioned to compete with other rugged hatchbacks in the Indian market, offering a blend of style, practicality, and affordability. Its crossover-inspired design and feature-rich package make it a compelling choice for urban drivers seeking versatility without compromising on comfort.
Overall, Tata's refreshed Tiago NRG aims to strengthen its foothold in the competitive hatchback segment by catering to consumers looking for a vehicle that combines urban appeal with the capability to handle rougher roads.
